Interested in Volunteering with the Associated Student Government?
The ASG’s volunteer program was created on Friday, November 4th 2022 to give students the opportunity to be more involved around campus, as well as gain knowledge and experience to prepare them for future positions within the ASG. This program is a great way for students to network around the school as well as have a thorough understanding of the way the school operates internally and its relationship with the local community. Volunteers can join various school committees regarding topics ranging from technology use in the district to hiring committees for SBCC faculty.
Benefits:
Certificate of recognition and completion to be received at the award's ceremony hosted by the ASG.
Experience in project management, student governance, planning college policies.
Networking opportunities both within and outside SBCC.
Can go towards volunteer hours for resumes, university applications, or job applications.
Additional rewards based on number of hours and level of participation.
Expectations:
Required attendance at volunteer meetings, optional attendance at regular Friday ASG meetings (Minimum of 1 per semester).
Communicate regularly with the VP of Internal Affairs regarding committee updates.
Participate in at least one project, one event, or one committee per semester.
Be respectful and follow scholarly conduct.
